Match Report: VCF Femenino salvage last gasp draw (2-2)
Julia Aguado gave VCF Femenino an early breakthrough just seven minutes into the first half following a textbook transition between Noeilia Gil and Caldela who squared it into an on-rushing Julia Aguado who slotted it away inside the far post beyond Aline to make it 1-0 for VCF Femenino.
Alas, it did not last long as only a minute later, Cristina Martín-Prieto made it 1-1 to the Canary Islanders and a minute shy of the midway point in the first half, Cristina Martín-Prieto made it 1-2 to UDG Tenerife for his second goal of the match.
The away side were looking solid over the half hour mark while VCF Femenino were trying to settle into the game. The remainder of the half played out with no further incidents and VCF Femenino trailed UDG Tenerife by 1-2 at the intermission.
VCF Femenino emerged in the second half looking to restore parity. The second half started at a high tempo at both ends and it evened out as the time wore off being finely poised on the hour mark and six minutes later, Jansen came close to equalising getting on the end of an Asun cross but the opposition denied her.
Paula Guerrero lashed a powerful drive from long range which went skimming past the top right corner on 69 minutes. With a quarter of an hour plus stoppage time left to play VCF Femenino penned UDG Tenerife inside their own box who defended resolutely.
However, Jansen rescued a point with an easy tap-in at the far post following a Carla Bautista smart pass who slipped into Asun who unselfishly put it on a plate for Jansen to bundle it home from close range to snatch a hard earned point for VCF Femenino right at the death.
